Probably not the lemons the person who first spoke those words had in mind (and definitely don’t try making lemonade with this), but I think the sentiment applies.

On Wednesday afternoon my daughter Sophie went with me to the infusion center to get disconnected. It all seemed a bit complicated to me, but Sophie’s an RN and she said, “Yeah, that’s easy!” Having her be able to disconnect me will give me a lot more flexibility in scheduling the treatments.

1 “chemo lemon” down…11 to go.

Feeling pretty good so far. A little more fatigued; some tingling in my fingertips.

PRAISES/THANKSGIVINGS

• For Easter worship at Northwest BC and Mercy PC, both joyous celebrations of the Living Hope that is found in Christ
• For a lovely Easter dinner hosted by the L family – such a blessing
• For nurse M at the infusion center, who was so kind guiding me through my first infusion
• For N, T, G & JM, the men in my Wednesday Bible study who pray for and encourage me

PRAYER REQUESTS

• For continuing peace and joy in the Lord
• For healing for my body
• For the spot on my lung (which they have not been able to conclusively diagnose) to respond to the antibiotics I am on and NOT be cancer
• For my kids and family, as they walk through this with me

[Esta entrada se publicó antes de que terminara de escribirla. Error de principiante en el mundo de los blogs 😦 ¡Perdón! Esta entrada se base en un dicho en ingles que se traduce, “Cuando la vida te dé limones, haz limonada.”]

Probablemente no eran estos “limones” los que tenía en mente la persona que dijo esas palabras por primera vez (y definitivamente no intenten hacer limonada con esto), pero creo que el sentimiento aplica.

El miércoles por la tarde mi hija Sophie fue conmigo al centro de infusiones para desconectarme. A mí todo me parecía un poco complicado, pero Sophie es enfermera y dijo: “Sí, eso es fácil”. Que ella pueda desconectarme me dará mucha más flexibilidad para programar los tratamientos.

Un “limón de quimio” menos… faltan 11.

Me siento bastante bien hasta ahora. Un poco más fatigado; algo de hormigueo en las yemas de los dedos.

• Por paz y gozo continuos en el Señor
• Por sanidad para mi cuerpo
• Por que la mancha en mi pulmón (que no han podido diagnosticar de manera concluyente) responda a los antibióticos que estoy tomando y NO sea cáncer
• Por mis hijos y mi familia, mientras caminan conmigo en este proceso
